Location South Carolina
Citation
GG(J.774.010
6 Apr 1774:22 (548)
The following lines were occasioned by a very recent address
and resolution, [?] to the general temper of the times in
South-Carolina; you may, if you please, suppose them to be
wrote by a Cherokee Indian residing in the province. . .
[signed] a friend to Candour.
Ye prospr'ous sons of Carolina hail!
Why do you thus exult! Why thus presume!
Your boasted riches little can avail,
Or gaudy equipage, or spacious room!
